It’s in our DNA.
We’ve always celebrated those who dare to go where others stop.
We celebrate those who ride gravel roads when the sun is setting and it’s still not time to get off the saddle. We celebrate those who fill their bike bags to the brim and head toward the unknown, knowing it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. We celebrate those who know that climb will be pure suffering, and yet still drop a gear to take it on.
We celebrate those who refuse to believe a limit is ever final.
When we committed to supporting Team Novo Nordisk this year, we did it in this very spirit.
“Pushing Impossible”
More than a cycling team, Team Novo Nordisk is a global movement that’s redefining what’s possible while living with diabetes. Every ride, every race pushes the limits, showing that with resilience, confidence, and support, “impossible” is just a starting point.
Their mission goes far beyond sport. It’s about showing the world, and especially those living with a chronic condition like diabetes, that a diagnosis is not the end of dreams, but the beginning of a new kind of strength.
Watch their video. Feel the impact. Push the impossible.

Voices from the Peloton: Bailey McDonald
To tell this story from the inside, we spoke with Bailey McDonald.
Bailey was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in January 2024, and exactly one year later, he turned pro with Team Novo Nordisk.
His journey is one of rebirth, shaped by sacrifice, constant monitoring, and above all, an unshakable passion for cycling.
Bailey, what drove you to chase your dream of becoming a professional cyclist despite diabetes?
“For me, it was a perspective reset. The diabetes changed my life, but it also gave me pure motivation. I wanted to turn every obstacle into fuel to keep the fire inside me burning. In the hardest moments, the support of family and friends reminded me that anything is possible.”
What advice would you give to a young athlete newly diagnosed with diabetes?
“Don’t panic. It’s completely normal to go through a whirlwind of emotions, but today a diagnosis isn’t an unscalable wall. Medicine and technology let us live without limits. Try everything, listen to what you need, and then get back on your path. You’re still you.”
What does “Pushing Impossible” mean to you?
“Breaking through barriers once thought unbreakable, overcoming every challenge without giving up on what you want. Every day we race, we show people with diabetes that even the once-unreachable can become reality. It’s a mantra I carry into everyday life too: adapt, restart, never give up.”
How important is it to have the right partners by your side?
“It’s crucial. In professional cycling, every little margin matters, comfort, weight, performance. Having access to top-tier technology and the backing of great partners makes the difference between looking at the sky and crossing the finish line.”
What does it mean to you to work with Selle San Marco?
“It’s a huge honor and a real confidence boost. The Shortfit 2.0 3D offers superior ergonomics, letting me hold a stable position for hours. Knowing I can count on such a historic brand is an advantage I feel with every pedal stroke.”
